We had the huge privilege last Saturday of broadcasting the 2021 LIVE final of the Liverpool International Song Contest to over 10,000 viewers around the world from Liverpool’s iconic and world-famous Cavern Club Liverpool. Organised by TUFF Music, 10 finalists from over 1,500 entries spanning 18 countries worldwide battled it out to be the first ever winner of this event inspired by John Lennon himself.
The live streaming setup consisted of 5 camera feeds mixed live along with multiple pre-recorded VT segments and live on-screen lower-third titles.
In addition to the live multicamera setup, the show also featured a live link-up to to Iceland with the Mayor of Reykjavík via Zoom call, with the hosts on-stage in Liverpool able to speak with the remote guests on the venue’s big screen and through the in-house PA.
The event, including our footage, was later picked up by ITV News on their website.
About Liverpool International Song Contest
The International Song for Kindness Contest was launched in memory of John Lennon, in what would’ve been his 80th year.
In response to the challenging times the world has been facing, the aim of the song contest is to raise spirits – whilst offering musicians an exciting opportunity to gain international exposure and a fantastic prize for the winner. Following the example of John Lennon’s Imagine, the song contest is searching for a song of hope and optimism.
About TUFF Music (TUFFM)
TUFFM is a creative arts and audio / visual program for young people and adults, working nationally across the UK. The extensive and inclusive program provides and maintains access for those with the greatest needs and their ethos places positive transformational change at the forefront of their creative projects.
TUFFM believe that arts and music, delivered in a forward thinking, socially and culturally relevant way, has the power to change and shape people’s lives. The knowledge, skills and experience gained through their program and made possible by the performing and music, film and in creative experimentation, are essential to young people’s development, including access to professional resources.
TUFFM’s mission is to provide underprivileged and talented youth a chance, regardless of their race, religion or culture, all while showcasing what an incredibly diverse melting pot we are blessed to have here in the UK. Their aim is to give underprivileged talent access to the same consoles, monitors, outboard gear and amps that you would find in any high end studio, as we strongly believe that wealth and financial standing should not be a determining factor in accessing such equipment. This also gives a voice to those who need it, using record production and promotion as a vehicle to spread kindness, positivity and a message of unity.
